Bloom (2024)
The pressure put on young girls to grow up at a much faster rate has been around for years, affecting multiple generations of women. It’s kept alive through various shifting cultural and societal views and likely victims of this cycle often aid in the continuation of the cycle. As a result, girls struggle with feeling out of place among their peers, having negative views about their body, and developing emotional challenges that stick with them for years. This pressure, not seen but deeply felt, leaves scars that can take a lifetime to heal and tremendous strength to avoid repeating the cycle. Bloom visually explores expectations around appearance, behavior, and maturity that strip away the innocence of childhood. This collection is for all the little girls who were forced to grow up too fast.
